Toilet Talk… How do you treat your Blackwater? Greets Permies! So my homes sewage system is connected to a septic tank at present and the greywater to a separate tank. Treating greywater seems relatively easy with constructed wetlands, but blackwater is a very different kettle of fish it seems. Ideally I’d love a compost system one day, but for now I will be using the existing infrastructure. Does anyone have any ideas or experience treating sewage from a flush system on a small scale? Plant breeding for permaculture?

Plant breeding for permaculture? Does anyone on here breed new varieties of plants? I’ve long had an interest in it and have done a bit myself. To me it seems like it should be a part of permaculture. A lot of the crops we grow are either disease prone or poorly adapted for where they’re grown, we have to use a lot of inputs to successfully get a crop off them. Some examples would be like most varieties of grapes (Vitis vinifera) being disease prone and not very cold hardy…
