Monthly reminder to disable reddit’s own spyware in your accounts settings.

Reddit does not respect your privacy, just look at the requests/ amount of blocked content on your blocker. Disabling these settings will stop Reddit from:

  • Tracking your outbound clicks
  • Allowing you to be used for research
  • Showing you relevant ads
  • Content personlization from third parties
  • Cross site tracking

Go into your preferences and go to the bottom where you will find “privacy options”. Disable “allow my data to be used for research purposes” and “don’t allow search engines to index my user profile”

Also go into set personalization preferences and disable all of that.

Make sure to save everything and to check every month! Reddit is not your friend, image posts are even forced to use Amazon’s servers. It is a smart idea to switch to a platform that respects your privacy like saidit and voat ((BEWARE OF RACISM ON VOAT), along with anonymous image boards (8chan (there is only bigotry on big boards like /b2/ and /pol/), Lainchain).

I do not promote the content posted on the sites listed, those are just alternatives that respect the user.
