So my dad and I are primarily beef farmers. We grow corn and hay as well but mostly just for feed. We are interested in growing hemp but this is our first year, we just want to test it out, see how it acts on say, a 5 acre plot. We aren’t looking to spend 12-15k dollars, again this is an entirely entry level endeavor. Yet everyone I have talked to has pretty much said I can’t plant that much non feminized seed. They won’t tell me why I can’t, just “it would be a disaster” and ” you just can’t”. I accept that these people know a lot more about it than I do so I’m not really trying to press the issue but can anyone break this down for me exactly what the outcome would be and why it would be so terrible? I apologize if this is a ridiculous question.
ELI5, why can’t I plant 5 acres of non feminized seeds.
