Would you lose your prescription for refusing corticosteroid injections???

I have just recently been approved for a shoulder (and immediate surrounding area) pain condition, to which i have been to physical therapy (with ultrasound) and a chiropractor over a six year span. i still exercise and stretch regularly to no effect except preventing stiffness.

However- i have always avoided surgery, opiates and steroids due to risk of losing musical dexterity and the negative effects of the others. when given steroids for a condition as a child, i experienced awful aggression and weight gain which ceased with the treatment…and never want that again.

However- i was told that this was something that would be done later on in order to move on, or at least it was worded to sound like that…and that has me very anxious and terrified!

Can i deny these steroids and still continue the only medicine which i know to relieve my symptoms without awful side effects??? I was told in the past that this could be refused! 🙁

Thank you for any advice, and i will continue to ask and search otherwise…i knew this was too good to be true

or will i lose it just for having posted something that was discussed at an appointment? i dont even have it yet…well, i suppose ill find out now, wont i???

(EDIT for clarity)
